Answer: Pl. go to ENT SPECIALISTS. THEY CAN GIVE U BEST SOLUTIONS.
Question: What would you consider a viable, cost effective health care plan? No reasonable person wants to deny health care to anyone in need. However, it appears to me that the government is assuming that every single man, woman & child is in dire need of these services.
Since medical care is imperative for those in need, why won't the government trash all unnecessary pork from the budget and use these funds as their 1st priority.
The majority of the U.S. population are healthy. I raised four children who always received their shots, were treated for a broken bone from falling from a tree or maybe a sore throat, etc. None of my children, myself or my husband ever had to be hospitalized. The same is true for all of the families I have known all these years. Therefore, I believe, this should be considered.
This way there will not be rationing, long waits for appointments, lower insurance costs for the healthy and those with serious and continuing medical needs can be taken care of through good government programs.
Health care for children is necessary but why don't they take into consideration the fact that children need fruits, vegetables and balanced meals, good hygiene, more physical activity by at least mandating it in schools again. However, the price of fruits, vegetables, milk, bread, cereal and other proteins are beyond the reach of the average family. These costs will only escalate when the carbon tax is imposed and transportation costs will be passed on to the consumer. We keep hearing about the growing obese children and population but their main diet is composed of high carb and junk food.
People with AIDS, MS, Hepatitis, Sickle Cell Anemia, Diabetes must have help and all deserve the best treatment available. Their prescription costs should be based on ability to pay. At present many life threatening diseases are not covered by local health departments and yet, we are spending billions on abortions for the whole world, billions for AIDS & other STD's to many other countries. We need to take care of our own problems first. Compassion is great but 'charity should begin at home'.
I'm by no means an economist but I just feel there must be a better way. In my view the government just doesn't look at reality and eventually they make circumstances worse & screw it up entirely. Just like they did with S.S., Medicare & Medicaid. Now they have to redo these programs and it will end up costing us more and getting less. They spent these funds on their other pet projects for all these years and now it's on the brink of disaster.
Just your opinion please.
For all those who answered that everyone should take care of their own: please be advised that I always did this regarding insurance and in every other respect.
However, the government is going to take this over no matter how adament you are so I'm just looking for a better way to spend this money they are going to take from us anyway!
Sarcasm is not an opinion, THX
Answer: Define "health care plan"
There are 2 separate and in some cases competing issues here.
1) The price of health care. Government regulation, the cost of education, the cost of LIVING have raised the price of CARE (that is, what a doctor charges) - but here is the bigger problem...
Most markets in the country are consumer driven. That is, providers (of whatever) will charge what the market will bear (in other words, what consumers will pay) - Health care is no different... but here is the catch. YOU are not the consumer of health care... The INSURANCE industry is (teamed with the federal government)! THEY decide the price of care.
If you are simply talking about coverage, well... consider that only 15% of the populations does NOT have health insurance. And of those, the government tells us that 1/3 CAN AFFORD IT, but chose not to carry it.
The COST of health CARE (not coverage) needs to be addressed. But, just like every other consumer industry, the government is NOT the answer...
Question: Child support help please.? I need help! I have hit brick walls at every turn and I don’t know what else to do…
Here is my story:
I was recently told by my ex that he is going to take me back to court to reduce his child/alimony payments and has re-hired his divorce lawyer, (a really dirty ‘dads’ right lawyer), because he cannot afford to pay what he is paying.
He wants to go back to court because, (1) he was laid off (in December 2008), not true, he left his job of 17 years willingly! (2) He is purposely not finding a job in which he qualifies for until our son is of age and the support will stop, just for spite. (Yes, he really things like this). He is now currently (back) on UIB.
My situation is fairly common, (I presume), and my ex has a horrible outlook towards me, because he see’s his payments as a ‘free’ ride for me. His payment is no way a ‘free’ ride, even after receiving it, it is not enough. He does not realize this payment helps me feed, cloth and help keep our son in our home. (I have paid him his half, the very day of our divorce).
He barely see’s our son and only contacts him from time to time with a few minute phone call and in his mind, he is ‘father of the year.’ And if he does take time to come and see him or wants to do something with him, it is worked with his schedule, for example taking him to a friends house as he watches a sporting event, etc., and not spending quality time. I have talked with him and even written him letters explaining the effects of his absence on our son…in turn he'll spend a little bit of time with him and then it goes back to the same old situation…no contact.
I too, am unemployed (as of April of this year), and barely surviving and there is no way I can afford to re-hire another attorney to help me in this matter. I have yet to receive any form of legal paperwork regarding this, but I wanted to be ahead of the game and have called agencies around my area, (San Bernardino County, I live in the Inland Empire), legal aid, (low income) etc to find someone who can help me or even advise me on this issue and I was told repeatedly, that they have no legal aid regarding child support and they were sorry. Even the 'low' cost attorney's I cannot afford at this time. I need good representation, as my divorce lawyer was a joke and a complete waste of $3500!
I have physical custody and we both share legal custody. When/if we go back to court, at this hearing, can I request to be granted sole custody, due to his lack of contact with our son? (He will soon be 15)
I am very congenial with him and have been very amicable in all regards, even when he has smiled in my face while stabbing me in the back! He really is nasty to me and all I can do is just pray for him and strength for me.
There is so much more to my story, but I do not want to continue on as this has been drawn out enough. I need help…I am a good person and I do what is right and have followed all the ‘rules,’ and yet, I’m the one to get the short end every time.
I just want what is right and nothing more for all parties involved.
Thank you for your time!
Addition to the above... to answer questions about him not having money...
He is living off of his 401k as well as UIB, so he is in no way hurting for money. Child support has hit him with a lien a few months ago to get payments in arrears.
Also, he has an ESOP plan in which we are to split. I have found out information that he is trying to put this into his IRA without me knowing.
I have been waiting 2 years to get him to pay for 1/2 to get the QDRO done.
A friend of mine, paid for me to hire a QDRO lawyer, (a few days ago, thank God), and I hope to have caught it before he has had a chance to withdrawal the money from the company he worked for to have it put into his IRA.
Regarding him leaving his work, he told me himself, in front of my friend, is this proof enough?
Thank you for your comments and information.
Yes, I do understand my gains and my ex's loss, regarding our son.
In no way shape or form, have I not lost focus on that. I know I am the lucky one and I am enjoying watching my son grow up to be a wonderful young man and in no way, does my situation with my ex have any negative feelings toward my son.
He is and always will be my number one focus. For he is my little piece of heaven.
For P.I.T.A. -
You seem to have issues regarding someone or something and I am not a part of your madness...
I just wanted some advice from anyone that was knowledgeable in this matter, period! I'm not here to 'bash' anyone. He's already done that enough!
Here is a brief explanation of what I do know is factual!
He quit, but since he was in management they worked out a deal, (surely they would not admit that on record, but who would right?). The bottom line is, they wanted him out and this was a hell of a lot cheaper route and a win, win situation for them, so in turn, they made it possible for him to walk and to receive the UIB.
Answer: Well, a brand new account created to bash dads. I wonder who you were, or are now?
If he quit, he couldn't collect unemployment, which means he has not income to use for the motion to modify. But, the judge is going to ask him why doesn't he have unemployment, to which he will have to say that he quit his job. Want to guess how the judge will rule?
Or, he's on unemployment because he was laid off and didn't quit. Either way, an attorney would cost him more than the child support.
Question: college for learning to fly and cost? i am thinking of trying to go to school to become a pilot for a private firm. I hear it is very expensive to learn how to fly, however, i get a lot of student grant money and financial aid that covers most of my tuition. Right now i go to a community college, so all of my tuition is covered because it is low. Will the expenses of learning to fly, say through Dowling College in NY, be covered mainly by my financial aid?
Answer: YES, Jason, you chose an expensive race but soon it will go to you very well. If you need more money I found interesting information about your answer, college loans, scholarships, college grants & partime works here.http://all-student-loan-consolidation.blogspot.com/2007/07/college-loan-consolidation.htmlGood luck!
Question: Credit Card Debt: Seniors or lawyers, will you advise me? Just got collection letter from Ken Hughes of Merchants' Credit Guide Co. Welcome all info about this outfit. Bad rep all over web.
Have you been sued by a collection agency? What did you do? How long from first collection letter to court date?.Were you represented?
How often do collection agencies sue low-income folks with no assets e.g. no home, old car? Seems like it wouldn't pay. Have you known it to happen?
Don't want to spend the rest of my life hearing from collection agencies. These guys sell debts to one another for pennies. I could be hassled for years. Some lawyers say to ignore it because I don't have anything. It's one thing to get a judgment, another to collect.
I just want peace of mind. I'm 69 with heart trouble and high blood pressure.I'm judgment proof but not stress proof.
I welcome mature advice. Lowest cost bankruptcy I can find is $1200. Legal aid won't do one.Should I do a bankruptcy just for the peace of mind?
Answer: Stay away from pre-paid legal plans - they are multi level marketing and nothing more.
You can file for bankruptcy without a lawyer. At your age, I think you don't care about your credit rating. Just make a list of debts and ask the court to waive the filing fee due to your low income (or lack of income). You do not have to sue any collection agencies or anything like that. When your bankruptcy is discharged - you will never hear from any collection agency. If any collection agency contacts you - you can have the court take legal action.
If you have millions stashed away somewhere, now would be a good time to tell the bankruptcy trustee who will oversee your case. Sounds like you don't - but be prepared.
You have to attend credit counseling before filing for bankruptcy and before you receive discharge. You receive certificates that are presented to the court.

Question: my life sucks :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(? im quite deaf, still can hear, and talk as a normal person. however as english isnt my primary language, i speak too fast and then get puzzled up, so its like im mumbling :(
well that means i cant go for girls as i wont be able to cope with less hearing, i do have hearing aids but i hate wearing them, i only wear them in college inside the class, i want to get mini ones that you cant see but the hosptial staff wont give me those, they say i need to buy them which costs over £500 each :(
im only 17 with no job, cant even get a job as i dont feel confident. now next thing is, my personality is weird
i cannot walk straight, i dont know why, i was fine as a kid but since im getting older, i find it difficult to walk, im bit shaky and sometimes my legs hurt, i even have weird shaped legs, im too skinny for my age and also underweight :(
also my teeth didnt come out good, im kinda goofy, and dentists dont give me braces, they did an xray on me and said that my jaws are behind and i need an opearion :(
i also suffer from hayfever and colds, i would easily get a cold in morning, so as of now i have a swollen right nostril and i need an opeartion on that :(
people critisize me of the way i look, i mean they say i have big lips like black people do.
also my eyes are a problem for me, they are very dark, i have wrinkles and tiny white dots, they are also sensitive as wheneve i go out they get watery
my throat is weird, it looks like as i have adams apple sticking out, and also some people keep asking me to reapeat myself when talking cos i guess i speak in low voice, i find it hard to shout
why has god made me like this, why do i have so many problems?
all i want is to look good, be in good shape and be able to hear and talk properly :(
another thing is, im quite clever than other students in class, as normally deaf people have learning difficulties but im normal
Answer: Hey
Yeah, I'm Deaf too, and being deaf and not following what others are saying is really crappy! Not much you can do about it though, except wear the hearing aids, or get cochlear implants which I have heard from friends improved their hearing a LOT. (It also depends on whether or not you are suitable for it, I'm not sure how deaf you are?) It is however, noticeable, but you could grow out your hair or something..?
For your speech, if you are really that bothered about it, you could go and see a speech therapist!
Are you involved in the deaf community? Any boyfriend I've had has been deaf! And they fancied me for some reason, even with my wonky teeth, glasses and 'weird' personality.. I'm sure you will find someone! x)
I know what you mean about not wanting to be loud and talking in a low voice, I do the same especially when I'm in a loud place like school, people often ask me to repeat as well.
If you are worried about your legs, go and see your GP and ask them what they can do about your legs, there must be something they can recommend you do to strengthen your legs.
I must make one thing clear though, most deaf people do NOT have learning difficulties, it is a LACK OF PROPER SUPPORT AND HELP IN THEIR EDUCATION THAT FAILED THEM! And THAT is what makes other people think that Deaf people are thick and/ or have learning difficulties.
You are getting all of those operation you talked about right?
After the jaw aligning operation you can get braces and get your teeth sorted like moi is (D:)
Have you ever tried homeopathy? My sister has hay fever as well and it gets quite bad, the remedy she got given worked really well for her! It might take a few times to get it right though.
Work out if you want to shape up, go swimming and have a regular routine!
Hope things work out for you!
Question: Why are people so angry at Obama? I don't understand how people can sit and judge that Obama has done nothing and is not concentrating on the real issues with no real facts or evidence to back up those opinions. How long has the man been in office? Less than a year. Does anyone really understand that? Things don't happen over night in any capacity and if they do you should be worried. I keep hearing that Cash for Clunkers is crippling the economy, but I do believe that it was already crippled from the 8 year reign of terror by Bush/Cheney and friends. If you would like to see some factual evidence as to the positive effects of this program visit...
http://www.theadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2009909120307
I just would like some real answers as to why people think that all the horrible issues with this country and extreme debt is so easy to fix or that Obama is doing nothing towards changing things. The new health care reform bill is a great example of how he is on the right track. Health care accounts for 1/6 of our economy and if it continues in the next couple of years it will be 1/3. Also, Insurance rates have been increasing at three times the rate that wages have. The new bill will not change insurance for people who are happy with it (except make it cheaper), but will open up more options so that everyone can have low cost coverage. If everyone has health care and serious illnesses can be caught before they advance into expensive problems, won't that cut spending all the way around? The myth that Obama will be stripping money from medicare or adding to the deficit is just that a myth. The majority of the initiatives that would pay for reform will come from cutting waste, fraud, and abuse within existing government health programs; ending big subsidies to insurance companies; and increasing efficiency with such steps as coordinating care and streamlining paperwork. They want to take money that is already being spent on health care and re-allocate it toward reforms that lower costs and assure quality affordable health care for all Americans. Considering that health care is a $2 trillion a year industry, I think reform is a great idea. Also considering many politicians are with the Carlyle Group (one of the nations leading investment firms in healthcare), I believe many are raising a huff and spreading lies about the reform in order to protect their own assets. Don't believe me just check out the Carlyle Group website, google them or whatever you want, just inform yourself.
The cuts we are talking about involve spending that currently does not improve care for Americans. For example, we would save $177 billion in unwarranted subsidies to the insurance industry in the next ten years and put that money into actual care for people. These and other reforms will strengthen and stabilize Medicare. Our country was a pit of despair when it switched hands and I think the fact that economic rises and gains are now being published is cause for hope. I think it is very surprising that we aren't in a state of third world chaos at this point. And I believe in giving credit where it is do. True change in this country isn't going to take a year its going to take decades. We seem to all have instant gratification on the mind, but is that so surprising. We are a culture of I want it now, give it to me now. We don't want to know the why's and how's we just know we want it. But until that attitude is given up the change we seek is going to take longer and longer. Don't just think about your own desires right now, think about the good these actions will have years from now when our children and grandchildren need it. We all made our mess, so we may have to lay in it for awhile, but I certainly don't want my beautiful little niece and nephew to have to wallow in it their entire lives. I wish we could all be positive, curious, informed, and hopeful for once, instead of cynical, opinionated, selfish, and fearful.
I'm looking for some facts here people...
And what kind of craziness has taken over the guy that said America was not founded on a radical design, everything about us was considered rebellious and radical! I am not saying taking away cancer will cut costs but how does it not make sense that if you can catch it earlier it will. Also, I have found nothing stating any funding cuts dealing with doctors pay. All cuts in cost are directed at insurance companies and their bottomlines. Sheesh, and nothing I posted relates to MSNBC, and I don't watch MSNBC...or fox news for that matter. Richard Armour once said "Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right and left instead of right and wrong."
Answer: it is about time that adults start to speak out. you pose a good case with logic and reason. i do believe however that most americans see things for what they truly are. i hadn't heard of the carlyle group but i figured that there were some hands tied to money in the health care industry and that is why there is an uproar among politicians, but at the end of the day the truth will come forth and many will be exposed
