Question: buy new CIC hearing aid? where to start? Hi All,
I'm currently wearing an old Seimen CIC hearing aid. I'm looking for a new pair but I'm not sure where to start. WHich brand specialise for CIC or what is the latest technology? I do not wish to purchase one without any background info. Once i buy it, that it!
Please provide me some info so I do not make the wrong choice and regret it.
Thank-you very much for your advise.
Answer: Phonak, Widex, Siemens, Starkey these are the good manufacturers to look
Question: I have a pair of Hearing aids that i need to find either the Manufacturer or patient how can i do that online? I have set of Hearing aids that belong to a patient but unfortunatly i can't find which patient it goes to or the manufaturer all it has on the Hearing aid is Custom CIC i need to find out how to look up either or on the computer. HELP!!
Answer: Without knowing the manufacturer, it will likely be virtually impossible to look them up by serial #. Does the hearing aid have ANYTHING else printed on it? There is no "online" database of serial numbers or hearing aids - you would probably have to call each manufacturer individually - which could take a LONG time.
Question: hearing aids whos wears them? i have been hard of hearing from birth and i have just got some cic ones for 2 grand so no one can see them but i just cant get used to then. i feel like i am all blocked up and its soo unconfitable what can i do as i really need to wear them.
am only 21 to and had the big hang on your ear ones and got bully so had to get cic ones.
Answer: Oh my god, I feel totally the same. I bought an in the ear one as I need it for my job (as a journo, to hear in court etc), but I didn't feel it made a difference. Then got one on the National Health Service - it's a big ear trumpet style one - and it's marginally better but I still hate and it and can't hear properly. Have nearly quit my job over it cos it gets me down so much - am only 27. have you been back to the audiologist to tell them this? They're a pain in the backside, and I know what you mean about the blocked up feeling.
Question: i felt blocked up with my new Hearing aid? Hi,
I am a recent user of CIC music pro it is now 6 yrs old. i have brought myself a new CIC Nitron.
When I have the new one on i felt like I am under the water, I felt blocked up. i cant hear. I have asked the audiologist to increased the volume to the max and does not work.
She said I'm not use to it that y.
i took it home and have closer look at it and there is no vent.
my old one have the vent.
Can you tell me is this the why i felt block up? I see no point of wearing it if i can't hear anything.
i put on old one on one ear and new on the other and i can hear so much better with the old one. why?
i tried to explain to the audiologist and she just don't understand what i'm talking abt.
Can anyone offer me an answer please?? or a website i can research?
Answer: Your question is kind of hard to understand. From what it sounds like you are probably feeling plugged up because there is either no vent or too small of a vent. I'm sure your audiologist would understand if you could explain it better.
Question: Where do I find the application form for the Canadian General Working Holiday Programme? I am an English citizen and I've been looking all around www.canadainternational.gc.ca and www.cic.gc.ga and I can't find an application form for the general working holiday visa, i can find information about it but no where the information on how to apply. I'm just going round in circles. I've emailed them they told me to email the Canadian embassy in London. The embassy in London however doesn't take emails - it only takes postal enquiries......or to come in person. Both are very impractical to me as I am not in england just now. And it seems like a waste of their time and mine to be sending post about such a simple question. Where is the application form?
I am getting kind of stressed about it because it states there is a limited number of the working holiday visa each year and its a first come first serve basis. I can find the application form for working visa and other visas i don't want, but not the working holiday one...
Can any one enlighten me, help me out........
I also know there is a website that kind of does it for you, some what of a third party, but with this web site one has to pay registration fees and all kind of stuff which I am totally sure I shouldn't have to do. I am pretty sure there must be a way to do it autonomously without the aid of an expensive third party.
I look forward to hearing from you - I appreciate any help
Thanks
Answer: As far as I can tell you just use the normal work permit application

Question: hearing aids question help? im looking for hearing aids so that i can hear betta and play softball without guessing wat the coach is saying. i heard of one that so small a doctor has to take it out to change battery and i told my mom that would be the only one i would wear so wat is that call i heard on cic hearing aids and it has a string and is not wat im looking for.if i cant find it ill go with that but i want the doctor one first.
my mom knows assoon as i get to school i take em off so she dont make me wear em cause i told her they hurt my ears all the time cause of device not mold and im 14 with mild hearing lost but that not my question its what type of hearing aid is that kind where doctors has to take out and in dumbass
Answer: If the hearing aid you're talking about it is the "Lyric", the one that you go back to your audiologist every 3 months to have them replace it and you don't change the battery each day then I have to strongly advise against it. When you play softball, your ear will sweat and it will short circuit. They only fit a small number of ear sizes and a small number of hearing losses (which they don't tell you in the advertisements!) After fitting lyric, 9 out of 10 patients end up removing it because it has short circuited or it has caused infection or discomfort due to it's deep placement in the ear. Also, you pay on a subscription basis- about $3000 a year!
On the other hand, you're 14 - you don't need an earmold and BTE as you did when you were a child. Have your mom make an appointment with the audiologist and then speak up for yourself. Tell the audiologist you care about what it looks and feels like. You can get powerful enough CIC's in 2010 that can fit almost any hearing loss, if you can get it out of your ear, you can even have the little string cut off. Receiver in the ear or canal with a tiny tip (little wire instead of a big thick tube with earmold) is another style that would be more comfortable and more hidden.
If you go without your hearing aids when you need them, you will lose your ability to understand words over time and won't due as well with hearing aids later. Use this information to talk to your mom about new hearing aids that you feel comfortable wearing.
