Great Collection of American Sign Language education and entertainment. September 1, 2008 ASL Teacher 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
To save as much as possible and to learn plenty of American Sign Language vocabulary words from various topics including the classroom, weather, everyday words, idioms, and stories about animals - you will appreciate this set of two separate DVD units.
The bilingual education is amazing, you get to see three things when learning a vocabulary, for example, you see: a very clear image/photograph along with English word and then be followed with the sign for that word - all at a comfortable pace that is certain enjoyable by the whole family, ASL professionals and students.
ASL storytelling is at its best and works as a great breakaway for everyone learning American Sign Language vocabulary, structures and idioms. You will get to watch the teacher expressing the beautiful language with culture and much feelings.
It is a wonderful addition to one's American Sign Language video collection; especially preserving these two DVDs because they were made and taught by a team of Deaf ASL professionals.

I purchased this DVD set based on reviews given by an ASL interpreter. I have not been disappointed! These DVDs keep the interest of my two young children without sacrificing intellect for the adults. We are able to sit down as a family and learn together. Avery is a wonderful story teller who's clear passion for animals is infectious. I would recommend this product for any family looking to learn ASL.

not what i was looking for December 11, 2009 MJ (LA USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was very disappointed in the DVD. The DVD was more of a sight/sign language trip to the zoo for deaf children. It had very little instruction on actually learning sign language for hearing folks.
